Principal's Message

Welcome to Vista del Lago High School’s web page
It is the Mission of Vista del Lago High School to create a Culture of Excellence

Here is a little about me. I spent 24 years as an educator and administrator with the Riverside Unified School District, with three additional years as a classroom teacher in the Ontario-Montclair School District. As an experienced administrator, I have worked at multiple schools at the elementary and secondary level. This has helped me to develop a strong understanding of curriculum and instruction, flexibility, cultural awareness, and instructional leadership. It is my goal to come use the leadership tools I have learned over the years at Vista del Lago to champion the learning of each student.

I am proud that student achievement has risen significantly under my leadership. Other areas of growth have also been noted at each school where I have been the principal, such as increased instructional expectations and the integration of technology. Furthermore, I have served on numerous committees at the elementary, middle and high school levels, including being a part of a WASC Accreditation Committee at a Southern California High School.

It is my heartfelt desire to connect with and serve the students, parents and faculty of VDLHS, and to support the heroic efforts of the classified, certificated and management personnel in order to ensure student learning at every level. I remain committed to being visible on campus and responsive to the varied needs of the school community.

Sincerely,
Mrs. J. Woodward
Principal
